Ursula Kathe Roediger (Polster)

Ursula Kathe Roediger (Polster) of Leesburg, Florida passed away peacefully on August 4th at Cornerstone Hospice House in Tavares, Florida surrounded by her family. Born on August 22, 1941 in Kopenwind Germany, Ursula was the oldest daughter of Fred and Gertrude Polster. She immigrated to the United States, settling in Queens, New York. She spent her formative years there and graduated in 1959 from All Saints Commercial High School. While out with friends one day, she met a young sailor from Michigan. She married Richard D. Roediger on May 6, 1961 and moved to Auburn, Michigan where they raised their three children, never missing her kids’ numerous events and attending St. Joseph Church as a choir member. Once her kids were grown, she enjoyed many years living on Lake Leelanau in Traverse City, Michigan where she made lifelong friends and more memories than one can count. She was so proud of her grandchildren and spent many laughter-filled evenings playing Dominoes, cards, and board games. She spent the past 30 years in Florida enjoying her hobbies of gardening, crocheting her “special” snowflake ornaments, and playing (and especially winning) Mahjong. In June, she was blessed to spend a wonderful time with her entire family, including her five new great grandchildren, who brought her immense pride and joy. She is survived by her husband Richard D. Roediger of 64 years; her children, Richard (Debra) Roediger, Lynn Myers (Kirk), Christine Satkowiak (Thomas); her grandchildren Megan Daoust (James), Chelsea Pinkelman (Matthew), Hillary Lauchmen (Kyle), Mathew Myers (Jessie), Daniel Myers, Galen Roediger (Becca), Nicole Roediger (Jacob), Aaron Roediger, Jeremy Roediger; her great grandchildren Carson Myers, Leyden Lauchmen, Jackson Pinkelman, Lucy Roediger, Hazel Daoust; her sisters Gisela Pereira, Rosemary Bollman (Bob), Ingrid Shaffer (Paul); her sister-in-law Kathy Reh (Reg); and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Gunter Thurneshuber and brother-in-law George Pereira. The funeral mass will be held at the St. Thomas Aquinas Parish and St. John Church & Student Center, 955 Alton Rd, East Lansing, MI 48823 on Saturday, November 29, 2025. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. and the mass will be at 11:00 a.m. A private burial will take place on Monday, December 1st, 2025 at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. Arrangements entrusted to Beyers Funeral Home of Leesburg, Florida.
