Obituary of Thomas Kenny Thomas James Kenny, 74, of The Villages, FL died Wednesday, November 12, 2014. He was born July 24, 1940 in Buffalo, New York. He was a retired NY State Police Investigator with 35 years of service. He was a member of the Florida Retired Troopers Association, NY State Troopers Association, Villages Police and Fire Association, Villages Woodworkers Club, Villagers Treasurer Hunters Club, Irish/American Club, Buffalo/WNY Club. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing 18 holes of golf with his family and many friends. Tom was a devoted family man who was respected by all for his many great qualities. He was an honest, trustworthy and extremely loyal husband, father and friend. You could always depend on Tom. He was considerate, supportive, encouraging and respectful with a wonderful sense of humor. Most of all, Tom was a man of great character, known for his integrity and strength. He also loved and appreciated all forms of nature, and took great delight in studing Florida's native species of birds and wildlife. An avid golfer, nothing pleased him more than to play 18 holes of golf with his brothers and many, many friends. He was particularly proud of making 3 holes-in-one. Tom was a gentleman and a man of his word. He accomplished most of his goals in life, with particular pride in choosing The Villages as his final home. He loved his life and his friends in The Villages. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. He is survived by his Wife: Lorraine Kenny of The Villages, FL; Daughters: Lauren Porter, Christine Sachs (Lowell) and Allison Woodruff, all of Raleigh, NC; Brothers: James Kenny of Lakeland, FL , John Kenny of Kenmore, NY, Francis Kenny of Warsaw, NY; Grandchildren: Austin Porter, Rachel Porter, Colton Porter & Autumn Sachs. Visitation will be held at Beyers Funeral Home Chapel, Lady Lake, FL on Friday, November 14, 2014 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Lady Lake, FL on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 8.30 AM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Villagers for Hospice, 601 Casa Bella, The Villages, FL 32162.
