Ronald John Bosticco, 79, of The Villages, FL, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026. Born on March 4, 1947, in Waterbury, Connecticut, to Frank and Rose Bosticco, he lived a life defined by hard work, generosity, and an unwavering devotion to his family. Known for his larger-than-life presence and kind heart, Ron left a lasting impact through his positivity, selflessness, and willingness to help others. Proud of his Italian heritage, he celebrated the culture's emphasis on family, loyalty, good food, and bringing people together. Ron is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 59 years, Helen (Mackiewicz); his devoted children, Valerie (George) Kolb and John (Lorraine) Bosticco; his adored sister, Eleanor Merola; gracious brother-in-law, Gary Mackiewicz; six cherished grandchildren, Jameson, Melia, Natalie, Aedan, Matthew, and Lucas; along with his caring nephew Edward McDonald and loving niece Lori (Steve) Kecskes and their families, along with many extended family members and lifelong friends. A dedicated family man, skilled tradesman, and proud union member, Ron was known for his strong work ethic, humor, and zest for life. As a lifelong member of Bristol Fish and Game Club and Wolcott Landowners Association, a member of Robinson Ranch Trap and Skeet, he was a passionate outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, archery, trapshooting, and more. He was a true renaissance man, talented in cooking, gardening, winemaking, mushroom picking, and playing cards to name a few of his many varied interests. Whether he was in the woods, on the water, in the yard, or gathered around a dinner or card table, Ron approached every hobby with passion and enthusiasm. After becoming snowbirds in 2008, Ron and Helen eventually made The Villages, Florida, their home, where they enjoyed an active social life of listening to live music, playing card games, and watching sports. They both were committed parishioners at St. Timothy’s Church. Their shared faith and values helped build an enduring marriage that inspired all who witnessed it. Despite numerous health challenges throughout his life, Ron faced each obstacle with remarkable resilience and determination, giving his family many treasured additional years together. He lived fully, loved deeply, and leaves behind a legacy of kindness, courage, and family values that will continue for generations. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, August 10th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Lady Lake, Florida, followed by a luncheon for family and friends. A private family burial will be held at a later date in Connecticut.
