Matthew Taylor Dolan

With profound sorrow and with our trust rooted in Jesus we share that our beloved Matthew Taylor Dolan, age 20, went home to be with the Lord on November 13, 2025, in Leesburg, Florida. Matthew was born with a brightness that never dimmed. He was light to everyone who knew him, full of joy, quick with a joke, always ready with a smile, and overflowing with a heart that loved deeply. He cherished life, his family, his friends, and especially his girlfriend, Kaitlynn. Matthew lived with Type 1 diabetes with remarkable courage and strength, refusing to let it steal his independence or passion for life. Matthew loved adventure and the open road, especially on two wheels. Buying, selling, upgrading, and trading motorcycles was more than a hobby, it was an expression of his entrepreneurial spirit. He had a natural gift for making deals and moving on to the next project with excitement. Even at 20, he carried the instincts and sharp eye of a seasoned businessman. It was on a motorcycle, doing what he loved, that his earthly life came to an end. Matthew worked at Chick-fil-A and was known for his kindness, humor, and dedication. He carried big dreams and long-term ambitions of becoming a Florida Highway Patrol officer, wanting to serve, protect, and make a difference. Matthew was a Christian, saved at a young age, and he carried his faith quietly but sincerely. His family takes comfort knowing he is now in Heaven, healed, whole, and spending time with his Savior, Jesus Christ. As Scripture promises, “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” (2 Corinthians 5:8) Matthew is survived by his father, Michael Dolan, his stepmother, Dawn Dolan, his loving grandparents, Patti and Don Keister, his biological mother, Elizabeth Jackson, his sisters, Kiah and Emmalee, and his brother, Oliver. He is also survived by his cousins, Landon, Emilee, and Joey, and by his aunt Leah and her husband, Adam Konczal. He is also survived by extended family and countless friends who loved him deeply. Our family stands on the promises of God as we navigate this unimaginable loss. We cling to the truth that “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18). A memorial service in loving memory of Matthew will be held on Saturday, November 22, at Morrison United Methodist Church in Leesburg, Florida.
