Obituary of Kenneth Cox Kenneth C. Cox of The Villages, FL lost his courageous battle to cancer and passed away at 10:00 PM on Thursday, August 12, 2010 surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Cortland, NY and moved to The Villages from Clifton Park, NY via Pine Island, FL in 1989. He was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, Summerfield, FL. He was an engineer for 35 years with G.E. Mr. Cox was an avid golfer and member of the Hole-in-One Club. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and friends especially loved being with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Patricia Cox, The Villages, FL; 2 sons: Timothy (Diana) Cox, Hanover, NH and Kevin (Karen) Cox, Hartland, VT; 2 daughters: Deborah (Mark) Van Horn, Allentown, PA and Susan (Ernest) Folino, Trinity, NC; brother: James (Stella) Cox, Fayettville, NY; sister: Roberta (Donovan) Cornish, Eastham, MA; 13 grandchildren: Ian (Caroline) Cox, Graham Cox, Meg Cox, Schuyler Van Horn, Monique Folino, Danielle (David) Ray, Jordan Folino, Nathan Folino, Haylie Cox, Hunter Cox, Hudson Cox, Hayden Cox, and Hannah Cox; and great granddaughter: Beatrice Cox. He was preceded in death by his parents: Robert & Esther Cox and 2 brothers: Richard and Gerald Cox. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a Wake Service at 6:30 PM on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Beyers Funeral Home Chapel, Lady Lake, FL. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 20, 2010 at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Summerfield, FL with Father Tadeusz Olzacki officiating. Inurnment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Cortland, NY at a later date and time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, Relay for Life of The Villages, 1650 W. Main St. Suite 3, Leesburg, FL 34748; or The Villagers for Hospice, 601 Casa Bella, The Villages, FL 32162.
