Jonas A. Feeley

Jonas A. Feeley was a man who lived his life with his heart wide open, guided by compassion, service, and unwavering loyalty to those he loved. He passed away unexpectedly on December 18, 2025, surrounded by his wife, Emily Feeley, family, and friends. He was only 38 years old. Adopted from Lithuania at the age of five by his parents, John and Rita Feeley, Jonas came to the United States, where he found a country, he deeply loved and proudly called home. Grateful for the opportunities America provided, he chose to become an American citizen as a teenager and, at just 18 years old, enlisted in the United States Army in 2005 as an Intelligence Analyst to give back to the nation that had given him so much. While serving in the U.S. Army in 2006, Jonas met the love of his life, Emily Feeley, who was also serving. They were married in Denmark in February 2007 and went on to build a 20-year partnership defined by profound love, shared service, and a connection that few ever experience. Jonas grew up in Southern California with his parents and younger brother, Mike Feeley. He was very proud to have graduated from Lyman Ward Military Academy in Camp Hill, Alabama. Due to his military service, Jonas lived in Arizona, Germany, and Georgia before settling in Florida with his wife, which they proudly call home. Jonas’s kindness and generosity were evident from an early age, first shown in the Lithuanian orphanage where, even at only four years old, he thought of and cared for the other children. That same big heart carried him through life—as a soldier, a husband, a friend, and a neighbor—always showing up with strength, compassion, a warm smile, and quiet dependability. He was always willing to listen and help others. A disabled combat veteran, Jonas served two tours in Iraq on active duty, including 16-month and 12-month deployments in Tikrit. He first served with the 1st Armored Division after being assigned to the 501st Military Intelligence Battalion in Germany, and later with the 3rd Infantry Division out of Fort Stewart, Georgia. After separating from the Army in 2011, his commitment to service continued through another 16-month deployment as a contractor in Afghanistan. Jonas enjoyed many hobbies, including riding motorcycles—he was a member of the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association for several years—going to the movies, reading, working on his farm, supporting veteran-owned businesses, caring for animals, helping others, watching football, spending time with friends, and building a life with his wife. His heart and passion for life were evident to anyone who met him. After leaving the military, Jonas earned his Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity and Management, his Scrum Master Certification, and most recently his FINRA Series 99 license. He never stopped learning and was always striving to grow both personally and professionally. Jonas found his passion in the financial technology space, where he spent more than 10 years honing his skills. His dedication and work ethic were known and respected by everyone who had the privilege of working with him. Though both Jonas and his wife lived with disabilities resulting from their military service, they never allowed those challenges to define or limit them. Three years ago, they fulfilled a shared dream by purchasing a 12-acre horse farm, envisioning it as a place of healing for both horses and people—especially Veterans and first responders—creating a space grounded in connection, patience, and hope. Jonas’ wife will honor his legacy by continuing to help others through the power of horses and by nurturing a place where both humans and animals can heal and connect. On December 17, 2025, Jonas went to the emergency room with mild flu-like symptoms. Over the course of the day, his condition rapidly worsened, and doctors discovered he had acute myeloid leukemia. Complications led to a cerebral hemorrhage that could not be surgically treated. Just 36 hours after walking into the emergency room—having seemed healthy and full of life the day before—Jonas passed away. Jonas A. Feeley will be remembered for his selflessness, courage, deep love for his family, and steadfast dedication to serving others. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, his mission to help others through horses, and the enduring love he shared with his wife and all who knew him. Jonas is survived by his wife, Emily Feeley; his parents, John and Rita Feeley; his brother, Mike Feeley and wife; his in-laws, George and Bonnie Pelissier; his sister-in-law, Joy Allard and family; his cousin, Marius Mozuraitis and wife; and the many family members and friends who knew and loved him.
