Obituary of James Harwood We rejoice in the homegoing of James T. Harwood on Thursday June 26, 2014 at Cornerstone Hospice in The Villages, Florida. James was born to John and Irma Harwood on 7/25/27. A native Floridian he was raised in Miami, graduating from Edison High School. Following graduation he served in the US Navy and upon discharge attended the University of Alabama, graduating with a degree in economics. A long time BAMA fan it was not unheard of to hear "Roll Tide" throughout the house. James had many passions some of which were sharing Jesus, baseball coins and competitive shooting, however, his biggest passion was held for his beloved wife Jayne. On June 17, 1954 he married Jayne Mobley, the love of his life and recently celebrated their 60th anniversary. During their 60 year journey they experienced the joys of parenthood raising two sons; Wayne T. Harwood and Brian S. Harwood. James, a banker, retired from AmeriFirst in 1986. He was known as a man of honesty and integrity, but most importantly, he was known as a "man after God's own heart." James was a faithful servant who lived out his faith and commitment on a daily basis. He joyfully shared the gospel to all he met. He was a man of strong faith, believing in the power and strength of Jesus' love and the beauty and peace awaiting in heaven. James passed on his love of Christ to his family leaving an ongoing legacy that will continue to impact for generations to come. James is survived by his wife; Jayne Harwood; Children, Brian and Sheri Harwood, Wayne and Tammy Harwood; grandchild, Shelby Sue Harwood; niece, Julie Lauderdale, Haley and Hunter Yavorsky; brother Roger Harwood.
