In Loving Memory: Jack Wilcox Flett, Retired Navy Veteran Jack Flett, a dedicated and honorable retired Navy veteran, passed away peacefully on February 26th at his home, surrounded by loved ones. Born on July 15, 1943, in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Jack led a life marked by courage, service, and unwavering commitment to duty. A 1966 graduate of business from Iowa State University. Post college, Jack served in active duty for five years for the US Navy including tours in Vietnam. Jack continued to serve for 30 years in the US Navy reserves. Throughout his distinguished career, he exhibited exceptional leadership, integrity, and valor, earning the respect and admiration of peers and superiors alike. He served with distinction in various assignments and deployments, demonstrating unwavering dedication to defending freedom and upholding the principles of honor and duty. His bravery and selflessness were evident in his actions both on and off the battlefield, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of serving alongside him. Jack spent 20 years working in management for General Motors in Detroit, primarily in the Cadillac division. Jack lives in Michigan for 35 years before moving to Florida. Jack will be deeply missed by his beloved family, friends, and all who had the honor of knowing him. Jack was preceded in death by his son Jeremy Flett. He is survived by his daughter Sarah Barry and three grandchildren (Indiana); sister Bonnie Samson (California); a nephew Grady Glover, and two nieces Haley Chetter (California); and Heather Glenn (Washington). He also leaves behind a bonus family of Eric, Ray, and Lynn Otto (Florida) and Jared, Melissa, and Caroline Boduch (Florida). In addition, Jack leaves many friends in Michigan. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched and the countless lives he impacted throughout his remarkable journey. A burial service to celebrate Jack's life and honor his service to our nation will be held on [Date] at Florida National Cemetary in Bushnell, Florida. A celebration of life will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Parkinson’s Foundation in Jack's honor. Fair winds and following seas, Jack.
