Elizabeth A. Rzemieniewski

On 4/12/18 at 12:00 PM, Elizabeth Rzemieniewski passed away surrounded by her family. Elizabeth was an amazing person. Not only did her family call her Mom, but so did the many children she taught at Olney High School in Philadelphia, PA. At Olney High School she touched many lives as she helped the kids learn valuable lessons to succeed in life. The kids Mom taught were special needs and Mom treated them all like her own. In return they treated her like their Mom. She was the only teacher that had a line on parent teacher night as the kids forced their parents to come meet her and the parents wanted to meet the Woman who changed their child's life. Mom won an award for being an All-Star teacher in the city of Philadelphia, one of her students wrote a letter explaining how Mom helped him and the other students become better people. The award was given to her at Citizens Bank Park before the Phillies game. Mom was there for everyone, family or not. She saw the best in people and praised them for that. Positive reinforcement was the way Mom related to you. Mom always put you first and herself third. Mom earned her Masters Degree Plus 30 in Special Education from Beaver College, now Arcadia University, in Cheltenham Township, PA. An accomplishment she worked very hard for and was very proud of. Mom loved Philadelphia, but moved to FL in 2009 to be closer to her Son, Mark. Mom convinced the grandkids to move to FL so we could all be together. Mom also adopted Zoey and Lexi her fur babies. Since 6/18/2017, Mom was in and out of the hospital due to different illness. Mom moved in with Mark and Maryann where we had ups and downs, but we would never have traded that time for anything. The last three months with Mom was the best three months of our lives. People would say "that must be difficult" we would say "Yes", but would not have it any other way". Mom is survived by her Son Mark, his partner Maryann, her grandchildren Michael and Megan, her great grandchildren Mason, Carmichael, Kayla and Aubree. Mom we will all miss you but know you are with us watching over us again. Even if we can't see you. We LOVE YOU and Thank you for everything you taught us.
