Daniel William Stephens

Daniel William Stephens, of Leesburg, Florida, passed away and entered his heavenly home on September 6, 2026 at 7:44 p.m. just as the sun was setting. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama, but called sunny, central Florida home since 2003. He graduated high school from Solid Rock Christian Academy in Inverness, Florida where he was the president of the SGA during his junior year. Later, he also graduated from Lake Sumter State College with an Associate of Arts degree. His intentions were to finish his nursing degree at UCF in the coming years. Daniel has overcome the odds many times in his life, being told that he would never accomplish many things to include: surviving 65 surgeries, graduating high school, driving a car (much-less a manual transmission), and graduating college (just to name a few). His perseverance and positive attitude in life allowed him to become a loyal, hard working person whose inner strength was contagious to all who knew him. Daniel’s favorite Bible verse was: Joshua 1:9 - "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go." Daniel was known for his love and passion for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, along with car racing, driving his 6-speed Honda Civic Si, and video games. He was also a fan of college football, Orlando City soccer, and the USA world cup team. He was beginning a career in a Lake County office of Vitas. He had a desire to give back by working in the healthcare field. He loved volunteering at his church in the sound booth running the cameras plus helping with the youth group. He also had a passion for video games and staying connected to his family and friends that way. He will be forever known to all by his video game handle “the racing kid.” Daniel is survived by his father, William Keith Stephens (Pastor Bill) and mother Dawn Renee Stephens of Leesburg, Florida. Twin Sisters: April Stephens Edwards and Kennedy Edwards of Tavares, Florida, Morgan Stephens Robach and Robert Robach of Sanford, Florida. Brother: Matthew William Stephens and Caitlin Stephens of Coral Springs, Florida. Grandparents: Keith and Shirley Stephens of Huntsville, Alabama and Aubrey and Ginny Bentley of Sorrento, Florida. Niece: Adalyn Robach. Nephews: Ayden Robach, Alijah Robach and Isaac Edwards. Aunts/Uncles: Kathy and Barry Ingram of Huntsville, Alabama, Sheri and Rick Terry of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Brian and Jennifer Bentley of Placentia, California. Cousins: Alex and Kayla Terry, Richmond B. Terry, III, Adrienne and Dave Brady, Taylor and Deme Rogers, Chandler and Madeline Ingram, Logan Bentley and Madelyn Bentley. Daniel is proceeded in death by his oldest brother, Joshua William Stephens, his younger sister, Hannah Grace Stephens, and his “Florida” Aunt & “Florida” Uncle, Jennifer and Jeff Elszasz. The family requests that everyone please wear green to Daniel’s Celebration of Life and in lieu of flowers, make donations in his memory to Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1710 US HWY 441, Leesburg, Florida 34748.
