Connie Lenhart Heath

Born in Baltimore, Maryland on June 7, 1943. Date of Death: January 18, 2026, in Clermont, Florida She is survived by her two daughters: Melissa Stephan (Roger) and Christina Howell (Gary); her siblings: David Lenhart (Megan) and Debbie Bailey (Gordon); Grandchildren: Tyler Howell (McKenzie), Judah Howell (Courtney), Moriah Casey (Tyler), Charis Rosado (Yarian), and Allison Stephan. She has eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of 28+ years, Joseph Heath, and her brother, James C. Lenhart (Vickie). She moved to Leesburg before the age of two with her parents. She graduated from Leesburg High School and went on to school at the Barbizon School for Modeling and Merchandising in New York City. She worked at her grandmother’s clothing store and modeled locally for several years. In 1965, she married United States Military Academy (WestPoint) graduate, Terry M. Throckmorton. They started a family having Melissa and then, a few years later, Christina. As a young wife and mother, both her parents died leaving her to help raise her younger brother and sister. Being in the military, they lived on various military bases both in the States and in Germany. She became a single mom when the girls were in middle school and moved back to her hometown of Leesburg. During this time, she became a realtor to provide for her and her girls. She was an example of service to others as seen in her time as a Brownie Troop Leader, Sunday School teacher, President of the local PTA, and could always be counted on to chaperone any church event the girls attended. She led by example and always had her girls in church. The girls will tell you she taught them how to live by faith, how to forgive, offer grace, and put your mind to things to just get them done. She had many hobbies throughout her lifetime: sewing, ceramics, crocheting, and most recently birdwatching. After many years of singlehood, she reconnected with her high school sweetheart, Joseph Heath. They were married in 1995 and remained so until his death last year. In the latter years, they were most noted for having Papa Joe’s Peanuts and Vegetable Stand. Connie and Joe attended Glad Tidings Church in Ocoee, Florida. She loved to worship Jesus and watch her children and grandchildren.
