Carolyn J. Blackstock

Carolyn Jeanne DeAngelis-Blackstock, born on December 16, 1944 in New Haven, Connecticut, died peacefully on February 6, 2019 due to complications from a brain tumor that resulted in a massive stroke. Carolyn enjoyed all of nature's beauty like colorful butterflies, breathtaking sunsets at the beach and miraculous rainbows. She also loved going to concerts and dancing to music, especially by Elvis. But her favorite things that she loved to do were to have tea parties with her beautiful granddaughters and watch the NY Yankees play baseball with her dad and mom. She was married to John E. Blackstock, III on May 9, 1964 in Miami, Florida and later got divorced in 1987. Carolyn worked in the Mortgage and Title Industry in Ocala, Florida and in Gainesville, Florida for her entire career. She moved to The Villages, Florida in 2007 to be closer to her parents, Geraldine R. DeAngelis, who passed away on January 5, 2013, and Rocco DeAngelis, who passed away on January 4, 2018. She is survived by her sister Patricia A. Belanger; her three married children: Angela M. Adams & Robert Adams; Brenda L. Dye & David C. Dye; John E. Blackstock, IV & Kimberly Blackstock; her four granddaughters, Sierra N. Dye, Marissa R. Dye, Rocki A. Blackstock and Arwen L. Adams; and her nephew Anthony R. Cricco and grandnephew Nicholas Cricco and many other uncles, aunts and cousins. Carolyn also leaves behind so many beloved friends from her Brain Injury Support Group, her Angel Group of Friends from Gainesville and her best friend in the entire world, Richard Blake, to whom we are ever so grateful for his friendship to our mother. A Celebration of Life Gathering for Carolyn will be held at the Community Center at 2260 Odell Circle, in The Villages, FL 32162 on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 10:30 am. Everyone is invited to go at their leisure to visit her stone at Hope Lutheran Church on 250 Avenida Los Angelos, The Villages, FL 32162. In lieu of flowers, if you would like to make a donation on Carolyn's behalf, we will collect donations to the Brain Injury Association of Florida or you can send a donation to the charity in her memory to support brain injury awareness, prevention, research, education and support.
