Carole Lanphear Parker

Obituary of Carole Parker Wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Carole Lanphear Parker of Wildwood FL/Morrisville VT passed away unexpectedly on January 12, 2016, at the age of 71. She was born on June 17, 1944, in Newport, VT, the seventh child of ten to Wyman and Helen Lanphear. She graduated from Lamoille Academy in June of 1962 and in December of the same year, she married the love of her life, Alan Parker. They recently celebrated their 53rd anniversary. After retiring from a 21 year career at IBM in Essex Junction, VT, Carole and Alan wintered in Florida and summered in Vermont. Continental Country Club in Wildwood FL became their permanent home in 2001 where they enjoyed many years of country club living. Carole enjoyed golfing, entertaining, playing cards and spending time with her karaoke pals. In the summer she spent her time enjoying time with her children, grandchildren and other family and friends. Carole's grandchildren were the light of her life she will be missed more than words can say. She was loved dearly by all and considered the fun loving Aunt by her many nieces and nephews. Carole is survived by her husband Alan, their 3 children Lisa Burke of Essex Junction, Dean Parker and wife Tammy of Morrisville and Jill Cantwell of Morrisville. She leaves behind her 6 grandchildren, Tyler Parker, Erin Burke, Sean Burke, Jessica Cantwell, Katie Burke and Jason Cantwell. She also leaves behind a special cousin Deanna Tripp of Hyde Park and her best friend since the second grade Judy Lanphear. She is survived by 2 of her sisters, Mary Griswold and Paul of Morrisville, Ruth Chase and Ken of Hyde Park and sister in law Janet Lanphear of Morrisille, 4 Lanphear brothers, Wyman and Joyce of West Virginia, Russell and Judy of Hyde Park, Joseph and Marcella of Morrisville and Calvin and Pat of Hyde Park along with many nieces and nephews. Carole was predeceased by her parents, sisters Florence Tallman and Wanda Allaire and her brother Rodney "Pete" Lanphear. A celebration of Carole's Life will be held on Saturday January 23rd at 11 a.m. at the Second Congregational Church in Hyde Park, VT. There will be no calling hours and the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to: Lamoille Home Health and Hospice 54 Farr Avenue, Morrisville, VT 05661.
