William Kelly

January 30, 1923 - March 7, 2022

William "Bill" Kelly, 99 of Fruitland Park, Florida passed away on Monday, March 7 at his home. Bill was born on January 30, 1923 in Fairvilla, Florida to the late William Carlos Kelly and Susie Antonia Brennan Kelly , one of eight children. Bill was employed by the Flowers Baking Company for 47 years, retiring as Marketing Manager. He loved to play golf, fresh and salt water fishing and hunting. An avid traveler, he loved seeing places like Alaska, Hawaii, Las Vegas and Maine, seeing the Grand Canyon from a motor home and cruising to Europe. A highlight was his annual North Carolina fishing trip with his brother-in-law Jack Brewer and friend Reid Daniels. He was a member of the Parkview Baptist Church in Lakeland, the Moose Lodge #1271 and the Miona Golf Club. He was a life member of the Merchant Retailers, GMR Grocery and the Yankee Lake Hunt Club. Bill was also very proud to be a native Floridian. Bill was predeceased by his beloved wife of almost 80 years, Myrtle, they're son William Wayne Kelly, daughter Donna Kelly Kizer and great-grandson C. J. Cromwell. He is survived by his son-in-law Ernie Kizer of Lakeland, daughter -in-law Georgianne Kelly of Gainesville, brother-in-law Russell Avera (Judy) of Fruitland Park and brother-in-law Jack Brewer of Huntersville, North Carolina. 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Bill's Life will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022 at 11:00 at Lone Oak Cemetery in Leesburg. Pastor Michael Brewer will officiate. Interment will be in Lone Oak Cemetery.
