Walter J Malik Jr. passed away on December 31, 2021 at 83 years of age. His wife was at his side. Walt was born and raised in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia, PA. He was predeceased by his parents Walter J Malik Senior and Regina (Polarski), and his sister Diane Malik. He is survived by his wife Renee (Carr) and his son Scott (Rebecca). Walt attended Saint Boniface Elementary School and North Catholic High School. He received his BS degree in chemistry from St. Joseph's college. From 1960-1962, Walt served in the US Army. His unit was called up during the Cuban missile crisis and the Kennedy assassination. Eventually, Walt began his career with the Philadelphia Water Department as a chemist. He retired in 2003 after 33 years of service. Among his many interests, mostly sports related were stamp collecting, fantasy football and golf. Walt moved to The Villages in 2005. He spent many happy years playing golf with his golf buddies in the Dinosaur Club. He loved Premier leagues soccer and even had a blog reporting scores and predictions. His favorite sports activity was as an ice hockey dad to his son Scott. Walt a.ka, Sonny, Jake, Mosc, Walter and Wally, was a loving and devoted husband and father. He was a good man with a terrific sense of humor. He is greatly loved and sorely missed by family and friends. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2022, at 11am at Beyers funeral home Lady Lake, FL. Memorial service in the Philadelphia area will be held on April 24, 2022 at the Bensalem County Club, PA (time to be determined).
