Wallace Strickland

Wallace Strickland, 96 of Center Hill, Florida passed away in Bushnell, Florida on April 30, 2022. He was born in Center Hill, Florida on November 22, 1925 to Lewis and Etta Strickland. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Center Hill, Florida which he served in for over 50 years. He is a WWII Navy veteran and was a member of the Florida Farm Bureau, Webster Farmer's Market and is a retired contractor and farmer. He loved and adored his wife, Evelyn, who he was married to for 65 years. He was a man of Faith, who shared Jesus daily. He loved his family, and his friends who were family, fiercely. Wallace Strickland was a Strong, Solid Patriot. He truly was a member of the Greatest Generation. He is survived by his son: Steven W. Strickland of Lakeland, Florida; 4 daughters: Barbara Merritt (Hal) of Hilliard, Florida; Kathy Holcomb (David) of Fruitland Park, Florida; Sheila Henderson (Earl) of Center Hill, Florida; Sharon Matthews (Eric) of Salem, Ohio; 22 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren and his daughter-in-law: Judi Strickland of Jacksonville, Florida and many nieces, nephews, family and friends that he loved dearly. He is predeceased by his wife: Evelyn Strickland; 1 son: Terry Strickland; 2 granddaughters: Ena Kelly and Terra Nordquist; daughter-in-law: Barbara Strickland; son-in-law: Fred Andrews; parents; Lewis and Etta Strickland; 2 sisters: Luetta Logan and Joyce Browder; 1 brother: Kenneth Strickland. A service will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 11:00 am (with visitation from 10:00 am to 11:00 am) at First Baptist Church in Center Hill, Florida with his son-in-laws, Hal Merritt, Earl Henderson and Eric Matthews, officiating. An interment will follow at Center Hill Cemetery with military honors. All arrangements entrusted to Beyers Funeral Home-Purcell Chapel in Bushnell, Florida.
