Strobie Fern LaRoe

December 20, 1955 - October 24, 2021

Strobie (Tobey) Fern LaRoe (65) of Eustis had a peaceful step into the next part of her Christian journey after fighting with a rare and aggressive form of leukemia (T-PLL) on October 24, 2021. A 1973 Honor Graduate of Eustis High School and 1977 Graduate of Tift College in Forsythe Georgia, Tobey began her career in environmental chemistry in Lake County, later moving to Ft Pierce and then Tampa working for the Florida DER, City of Largo, and later managed a private laboratory. In recent years she had again made Lake County her home and enjoyed being around friends and family and using her skills in spinning yarn, crocheting and knitting. Many infants had warmer heads due to individualized stocking caps handmade by Tobey. Born December 20, 1955, Tobey was predeceased by her parents Glen Albert LaRoe of Eustis and Strobie Jean (Merrill) LaRoe of Umatilla, Tobey is survived by loving family: Sister, Glenda LaRoe, Eustis; Brother and wife, Al and Kathy LaRoe of Niceville, Florida; Nephew and family, Albert and Michelle LaRoe with Harrison and Atticus; and Niece and family, Leslie and Nick Amodeo with Jasper.
