Sandra Lybe

Sandy Lybe, 73, of Groveland, FL passed peacefully at her home surrounded by family on November 7th 2021. She is survived by her husband of 35 years Denis Lybe, her Daughter Amy Lybe of Los Angeles, CA and her sister Lois Holderidge of Fullerton, CA. Sandy was born in San Bernardino, CA on February 4th, 1948 to Isaac Johnston and Helen Lund. Sandy attended Cal State Fullerton to study music and theatre and had a successful career as an actress and singer in Los Angeles and New York City before settling down with her husband in Brookfield CT to raise their daughter together. Sandy taught piano and voice lessons from her home for 20 years and was the choir director for Newbury Congregational Church and later New Milford United Methodist Church. She was also the accompanist for the choirs at Danbury High School and later Brewster High School in New York. When she and her family moved to Florida in 2015 she began teaching at Family Music in Clermont, where she taught until April 2021. Sandy loved working with her piano and voice students and was always so proud to see them succeed. She loved singing in the church choir and going for long drives just to enjoy the scenery, but she especially loved spending time with her family. Sandy touched so many peoples lives through her passion for music and will be remembered for her kindness and loving spirit. "Say not in grief 'she is no more' but in thankfulness that she was.
