Ronald Timson

September 18, 1946 - June 1, 2022

Ronald Paul Timson, age 75, died on Wednesday 6/1/2022 at his home. Ron is survived by his wife, Donna Lyn, son Jason, daughter in law Christina and sister Becky. He has three grandchildren, Marilyn, Gaige and Blane. Ron and Donna Lyn met in college at Lake Sumter Community College where he played baseball and basketball. Upon graduation he enlisted in the Air Force where he did a tour in Vietnam. He was highly decorated and served his country all over the world for 22 years before retiring with the rank of Captain. After the military, he became a teacher/athletic director and coached football at the high school level for the next 25 years beginning in Nebraska and ending in Florida. Ron touched the lives of numerous students and athletes during his tenure as an educator in Lake County Florida. He was the head football coach at Umatilla High School for many years winning multiple championships with his program. He then moved to Tavares High School and assisted in their football program before retiring. He remained a substitute teacher so that he could still be involved with the students/faculty/athletes whom he loved. Ron and Donna Lyn were happily married for 52 years.
