Mary Frances McLemore
May 23, 1928 - December 13, 2021
Mary Frances McLemore, born Mary Frances Barton on May 23, 1928 passed peacefully in her home on December 13, 2021 at 93 years of age. She was the eldest of 9 children, surviving: Justin Barton, Patsy Lambert and Shirley Kirby, preceded in death by brothers Harold Barton, Jake Barton, Billie Barton, and Ellis Barton and sister Hortense Guthrie. For 54 years, she was married to J.T. McLemore (preceded in death). She was reunited with him 22 years and 1 day after he departed. She was the mother to her sons: Timmy McLemore (preceded in death), Randy McLemore and Bill McLemore. Grandmother of 9: Jesse McLemore, Tess Horton, Jeffrey McLemore, Tommy McLemore (Shay), Felicia Ramos (Robert), Matthew McLemore, Patrick McLemore, Angie McLemore, and Josie Cole (Cody). She was the great grandmother to 24 (preceded in death by Sheena Phillip). And great, great grandmother to 13. She dedicated her life to her family, and was truly the glue that held them together. Her home in Weirsdale was the soft place for all to land when life was hard, and a welcoming warm place when she was there. Granny, as she was known to most (and Grano to a few), always had a warm welcome, and a hot plate of food for anyone who stopped by. Her recipes could rival Paula Deen. Her house was a special place for many. Granny was the kind of person that would cook the last food she had to feed a hungry person. She would give her last dime to someone in need and say "They needed it more than I did." There are many people in Weirsdale (and beyond) who knew Granny, and they all loved her. After hearing the song "Holes in the Floor of Heaven," I once asked her shortly after her husband passed if she thought he was looking down on her watching her from heaven. She replied "No I don't think he is." When I asked why, she replied "If he saw me now and knew how much pain I was in, it wouldn't be heaven for him." There are a lot of people today who are in pain and missing her. But she's in Heaven and she's no longer in pain. I pray for all her family and friends to know that she is resting and well with Pop, Timmy, Sheena, her mom, dad and siblings and the many others in heaven she has longed to see. A visitation will be held Friday, December 17, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Beyers Funeral Home in Lady Lake, Florida. A graveside service will be the following day Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Forest Hill Cemetery in Weirsdale, Florida at 2:00 PM. Arrangements entrusted to Beyers Funeral Home of Lady Lake, Florida.
