Leonard Hilbert Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Leonard J. Hilbert (Lenny), age 74, was called to Heaven to become one of God’s angels, on Thursday, June 2, 2022. He passed away at home, in The Villages, Fl., after battling many illnesses. He was under the wonderful care of Hospice. Formerly of Allentown, Pa., he was a son of the late Sarah (Huber) and George Trexler. He is survived by his beloved wife Corinne A. (Burak) Hilbert, four sisters, Pennsylvania; one brother, Canada; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews, his furry-friend Molly, a Doodle dog, many fishing buddies and miniature boat club friends. Married for 52 years, Lenny was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Allentown. Lenny graduated from Dieruff High School, Allentown, in 1965 and enlisted in the U.S. Army, He became a sergeant and served in the Vietnam war from September 28, 1966 to September 26, 1969. After completing his time and receiving his honorable discharge, he came home to his wife-to-be, Corinne. They were married in Immaculate Conception Church on April 4, 1970. Lenny went on get his plumbing license in Allentown. He also worked for Mack Trucks, Allentown. Lenny enjoyed boating, fishing, vegetable and flower gardening. So, when a job came along at Pro-Am Fishing, South Whitehall Township, Pa., he was hooked. He enjoyed talking to people from their lines to sinkers and what their catch of the day was going to be. When Lenny would take his boat out and catch a small fish, he would always tell it before throwing it back, “grow up I’ll be back to catch ya.” Memorial services will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, or The Diabetes Foundation. Lenny, you will be greatly missed by of us who were so fortunate to call you husband, family and friend. Rest In Peace.
