Obituary of Kenneth Searfoss Kenneth A. "Decker" Searfoss, 78, died Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at The University of Florida Shands Hospital. He was born in Coaldale, PA and worked as a clerk with the Jersey Central Railroad and Conrail for 44 years. He moved to The Villages in 2002 from Jim Thorpe, PA. He was an Episcopalian by faith, 32nd Degree Mason with the Jordan-Martin Lodge # 673, Allentown, PA; a former director of the Jim Thorpe School Board and a member of The Hole-In-One Club. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed bocce and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Doris, The Villages, Fl; son, Jeffrey (Sandra) Searfoss, Jim Thorpe, PA; 2 daughters: Lori (Charles) DeWire, Jr., Barnesville, PA; Alison Searfoss, Nesquehoning, PA; 3 brothers: Thomas (Gertrude) Bryfogle, Mahoning Township, PA; Rev. Vernon (Dorothy) Searfoss, Clark Summit, PA; Donald (Helen) Searfoss, Albrightsville, PA; sister: Gloria (Anthony) Sebelin, Bozeman, MT. 5 Grandchildren: Ryan DeWire, Danielle DeWire, Jared DeWire, Matthew Searfoss and Joe Searfoss. 6 Great-grandchildren: Hunter, Joey, Layla, Harper, Mason & Bella. He was predeceased by his parents: George and Nora Searfoss and 3 brothers: George, Robert & John. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2011, 2:00 PM at Beyers Funeral Home Chapel, Lady Lake/The Villages. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Memorial Services were also held in Jim Thorpe, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to UF Shands Cancer Center, Office of Development, PO Box 103633, Gainesville, FL 32610. Local arrangements entrusted to the Beyers Funeral Home and Crematory, Lady Lake/The Villages Chapel.
