Jimmy D'Amico

June 9, 1928 - May 20, 2022

Jimmy D’Amico passed peacefully into the arms of his heavenly family on May 30, 2022, at 93 years of age. He was a loving husband, grandpa, father, son, uncle, and sibling. Despite his deep loud voice, he was a softie, kind and generous, and always available for his family, friends, and neighbors when help was needed. Jimmy was a printer for 33 years at D. P. Murphy Inc. in Manhattan and then Deer Park, Long Island. When he retired the company dedicated the printing press on which he worked and taught others, to him. He had many other talents, he could lay rug, expertly wallpaper, lay flooring, build fencing, plaster, and did fine carpentry. He was born in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn to immigrant parents from Sicily, moved to Staten Island with his young family and then retired to the Villages in Lady Lake, Florida where he lived until his death. He had a keen sense of humor, enjoyed movies and game shows, he loved music and dancing with his wife of 54 years prior to her death in May 2013. Jimmy was an active member of the Knights of Columbus attaining his 4th Degree at the Cavallaro Council in Brooklyn and attained lifetime membership with his 3rd Degree in Council 5644 of Leesburg, Florida where he was unable to be as active as in his younger years. His faith was simple and deep, living his Catholic values daily throughout his life. He was predeceased by his wife Leonora of 54 years in 2013. He is survived by his son James, his daughter Mariana and his grandchildren James and Alyssa and his youngest sister Jean Lampariello and a myriad of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Arrangements entrusted to Beyers Funeral Home of Lady Lake, Florida.
