James Curtis Lenhart

July 27, 1944 - April 12, 2022

James "Jim" Curtis Lenhart of Wildwood, FL passed away April 12, 2022 at Ocala Regional Hospital. Jim was the second of four children of Marry Reese & Bert Lenhart. While born in Pennsylvania, Jim claimed Leesburg as his hometown. Jim graduated from Leesburg High School in 1962, then CFCC and on to Auburn University. Jim met his wife of 57 years, Vickie Treadwell Lenhart, in the 8th grade and were high school sweethearts. Jim was a longtime community leader who served on many local boards in Leesburg. Among his many accomplishments were, owner and operator of Lenhart Electric Company until his retirement in 1999, Chairman of the Florida State Electrical Contractor's Licensing Board, board member of Boys & Girls Club of Lake County, Lake County Boy Scouts, president of the Leesburg Gideons International, chairman of Teleois Prison Ministries, team member of Kairos Prison Ministries, lay director of the Leesburg Man's Emmaus Walk, founding board member of the Lake County Christian Motorcycle Association, lifelong member and Sunday school teacher at Morrison Methodist Church, past president and long time member of the Leesburg Noon Rotary Club. Jim is preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Kimberly Anne Lenhart. He is survived by his wife Vickie, sisters Connie and Debbie, brother David, son Kelly (Stephanie), his daughter Christy (Bill) Peterson, his grandson Justin (Kela) and granddaughter Jordann (Harrison) Kelley. Jim's services will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Beyers Funeral Home, 1123 W Main St, Leesburg, FL 34748. Viewing 1 pm - 2 pm and service at 2 pm. Graveside to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Leesburg.
