Gina Ellen Simpson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

On Tuesday, July 6, 2022, Gina Ellen Dixon Simpson of Bushnell, Florida, a loving daughter, mother and grandmother passed away at the age of 62, in Leesburg, Florida. Gina was born October 3, 1959, in Leesburg, to Franklin and Faye (Adams) Dixon. She worked in landscaping, health care, food service and her most loved job with her father, Franklin, on the family ranch. She raised one daughter and assisted with the care of her grandchildren. Gina loved her family and was a generous person helping with the needs of her friends where she was able. She enjoyed the outdoors and residing on the family ranch where she could see the cattle and wildlife from her porch and windows. Her dogs were very important to her and a big part of her life as they fully understood her every word. Gina loved music, antiques and old stories. Gina was preceded in death by her father, Franklin, brother, Jimmy and Melba, her beloved dog. She is survived by her mother, Faye Dixon, daughter, Jessica Simpson, sister, Sandee (Mike) Howell, grandchildren, Destiny Brown, Garrett, Brown, Joel Phillips and Joleen Phillips, great grandson, Leo James, nephews, Tim (Brittani) Altman, James Dixon, niece, Amber (Trey O’Neal) Dixon, sister-in-law, Ramona Scharber and several great nephews and one great niece. Gina also leaves behind her beloved dogs, Georgia and Otis. A service will be held on Wednesday July 13, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation on Tuesday July 12, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. at Purcell Funeral Home Chapel in Bushnell, Florida. Pastor Ronny Hunt will be officiating. All arrangements are entrusted to Purcell Funeral Home Chapel in Bushnell, Florida. Interment will follow at Tema Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Humane Society SPCA may be made.
