Obituary of George Pilkington Monty Pilkington went Home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010. He had been sick and in the Hospital most of the previous 22 months. He was born in Union, South Carolina on Sept. 2, 1939. He graduated from Jackson High School in Miami, FL. in 1957. He married his Wife, Soni, on July 21, 1961. They met when he was 17 years old and Soni was 15 years old and fell in love at first sight. They lived in Hialeah, FL. and North Miami, FL. until 1980 when they moved to Lake County, FL. Monty and Soni were married for 49 years and worked together, side-by-side, every day for 48 of those years. Monty is survived by two children: His Son, Monty Keith Pilkington and his wife, Karen Pilkington, of Seminole, FL. and his Daughter, Monica Pilkington of Summerfield, FL., and her Daughter, Megan Pilkington (who is Monty's only Grand-child). His Brother is Edward Pilkington, his wife, Linda, of Lake Wales, FL, and children: Scott, Gregory, James and Lauren Pilkington. His Sister is Elizabeth Willis and her husband, Larry, of Pembroke Pines, FL, and their children: Duane Willis, his wife, Karen, and their daughter, Cameron; and Lori Canning, her husband, Tom, and their children: Liam and Autumn Canning. His Sister-in-Law is Linda Ringquist, of Osteen, FL. Monty is a Charter Member of Uniques & Antiques Car Club in Lady Lake, FL. He has been a Street Rod and Show Car enthusiast since he was 17 years old. He has owned many Street Rods over the years, from 1932 Fords to 1949 Cadillacs. He designed and built a Show Van in 1977 and showed it in the International Show Car Association (ISCA) Shows. He proudly displayed in his home an entire wall of the Trophies he won from those Shows. Monty and Soni own HLS Real Estate in Fruitland Park, FL. They went into real estate together, as a Team, in 1982. They opened HLS in 1985 and have always worked together. Monty will be remembered as always being ready to help others and being not only a loving and devoted Husband and Family man, but caring about the lives of the Customers he worked with in Lake County over the years. The Memorial Service will be held at Beyers Funeral Home and Crematory, Lady Lake, FL. on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, at 2:00P.M.
