Gene Tunney Elliott, 92, of Lake Panasoffkee, Florida passed away in Bushnell, Florida on October 19, 2021. He was born in Salisbury, Maryland on May 27, 1929 to Irving and Mary Elliott. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Lake Panasoffkee. He retired from military service after serving 20 years as a Master Sargent in the Marines. He served in the Vietnam and Korean Wars. He was a member of the Masons of Bushnell Lodge 30, Odd Fellows Lodge #58 in Leesburg, Rebekahs Lodge 52, Sanford #5 Patriarch Militant, Lodge #17 The Grand Encampment, Veterans of Foreign Wars # 10084, American Legion #101, Korean War Veterans Lodge #169 of Leesburg, and Marine Corp League #1240 Lake County. He enjoyed traveling, reading, and being active in his community. He is survived by his wife: Virginia Elliott of Lake Panasoffkee, Florida; daughters: Jacqueline Rowlett of Seminole, Florida, Kelly Kertz (James) of Leesburg, Florida, and Christine Schram (Vaughn Fields, Jr.) of Bushnell, Florida; sons: Robert Elliott (Lana) of Alta Loma, California and Kenneth Pierce (Debra) of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Heather, Rachel and Dallas; great-granddaughter: Felicity; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son: Donald Elliott.
