Florence Kantor

July 11, 1927 - October 12, 2021

Florence Kantor, Beloved Mom, Grandma, & Big Grandma, passed peacefully in her sleep from this life, into the arms of Jesus, Tuesday morning, Oct. 12, 2021 in Leesburg, Fl. She was 94. Florence was born in Perth Amboy, NJ, in 1927 and was married to Joseph Kantor (deceased) in 1949. After traveling throughout the world with the Air Force, Florida became their home in 1961. They moved to Leesburg in 1970 to own and operate Lum's Restaurant, and later Mr.K's Beef and Dog House. She was a tireless, hardworking helpmate in the businesses. After retirement, in 1980, she devoted herself to her grandchildren, caring for some from cradle to preschool. One could often see her at Leesburg's Venetian Gardens leading a gaggle of young grandchildren, each with a bag of bread in search of ducks to feed. She loved to bake, play cards, and especially enjoyed watching baseball and football. She was the 3rd of 9 siblings and was the last one to leave the earth for heaven. She is survived by her four daughters, Lynn Thomas, Gail Evans, Danna Crews, Pattie Rouse, all of Leesburg, Fl, one son BJ Kantor, of Cocoa Beach, Fl, nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Monday, October, 18, 2021 from 10am to 11am at Beyers Funeral Home in Leesburg. A service will follow at 11am with Lt. Col. Basil "Roy" Howard (US Army retired) officiating. Florence will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Leesburg. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made on behalf of her first grandchild, Joe Evans, serving the Lord as a missionary in Papua, New Guinea.
