Evelyn Faith Crouch Thompson

March 27, 1922 - March 20, 2020

Evelyn Faith Crouch Thompson was born in Ames, Kansas, on March 27, 1922, to Joshua Franklin Garlow and Ruby Cyr Garlow. She was the youngest of eight children in her family, and was the last of her brothers and sisters to go and be with Lord in His House on March 10, 2020. Evelyn attended Concordia, Kansas High School and Miltonvale Wesleyan High School and attended Wesleyan Camp Meetings in Miltonvale, Kansas, where she met her future husband Vernon Charles Crouch. She worked for many years as Executive Secretary at the National Headquarters of the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Indiana. Evelyn and Vernon moved to Leesburg, Florida in 1971, and became very involved with the Fruitland Park Community Methodist Church. She worked as secretary at Leesburg Lakeshore Mobile Home Park for several years. Vernon predeceased Evelyn on August 9, 1987. After her husband's death, she remarried Woodrow (Woody) Thompson in 1993 and he died March 17, 2001. Vernon and Evelyn had three children, Sherry Dyer (Ken), Linda Grizzard (Tom), and Rick Crouch. She was predeceased by her son Rick and daughter Sherry. Evelyn is survived by her daughter Linda Grizzard, two Step Daughters, Dorothy Maddox and Joy Lay, 11 Grandchildren, 24 Great Grand Children and 13 Great Great Grand Children. A Celebration of Life will be held at The Community Methodist Church in Fruitland Park at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 20 in the Sanctuary, and a reception will follow the service in the Church's Fellowship Hall.
