Donald "Donny" Michael Ray, 49, of Sumterville, Florida passed away on March 28, 2022 in Ocala, Florida. He was born in Leesburg, Florida on February 24, 1973 to William and Debra Ray. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sumterville. Donny worked at Florida National Cemetery for many years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting, traveling, and being outdoors. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 21 years: Beverly Ray of Sumterville, Florida; daughter: Stacy Ray of Sumterville, Florida; son: Kyle Follansbee of Sumterville, Florida; parents: Debbie and Billy Ray of Lake Panasoffkee, Florida; Mitch Roop of Wildwood, Florida; brother: Chad Ray of Lake Panasoffkee, Florida; sisters: Jennifer James (Eric) of Oxford, Florida; Jamie Padgett (Rod) of Fruitland Park, Florida; mother in law: Mary Roberts of Brooksville, Florida; sister in law: Karen Watson (Eddie) of Brooksville, Florida; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. A service will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022 at 1:30 pm (with visitation on Thursday, April 7, 2022 from 6-8) at Purcell Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jimmy Jones officiating. Interment will follow service at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. In Lieu of flowers the family is requesting a donation be made in Donny's name to K-9 for warriors www.k9sforwarriors.org. All arrangements are being handled by Purcell Funeral Home in Bushnell, Florida.
