Carol J. Mayo

August 21, 1928 - March 12, 2022

Carol J. Mayo passed in peace on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at the age of 93 at her Deland, FL residence. Proceeded in death by her devoted husband of 59 years, Willard "Harold" Mayo and son Richard Phillip Mayo. Loving mother to Catherine Bone (husband David Bone), Judith Mullins (husband Dave Mullins) and Lynda Schoonard. 5 grand children, William (JR), Justin, Bryan, Jessica and Bradley. 4 great children, Mason, Trey, Skylar and Piper. She will be fondly remembered for her career in nursing, her love of Bingo, playing cards and crafting. She loved living near wildlife and their homes on the river, as well as traveling the USA. She was a life-time member of the VFW Auxiliary, her community service with the Astor Community Association and volunteer work at the Lake County Sheriff's Office. We will miss her mischievous smile and wonderful stories. She was always known for her love, passion and generosity. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 23rd, 2022 at Beyers Funeral Home - Astor located at 24540 Highway 40, Astor, Florida 32102, from 11:00 am -12:00 pm, with services to follow. Internment will take place directly after the service at Chapel Hill Cemetery located at 2420 Harrell Road, Orlando, FL 32817.
