Anita Elizabeth Drysdale

September 8, 1932 - February 2, 2022

Anita Elizabeth Drysdale was born on Sept 8, 1932 in Oak Park, IL to Erick and Louise Johnson. She went to be with the Lord on Feb 2, 2022 at the age of 89 at UF Health the Villages Hospital after a sudden illness. Anita lived in Western Springs, IL and Clarendon Hills, IL until 2017 when she moved to Florida where she lived at Trinity Springs until her death. Her memorial service was at Live Oaks Community Church on Feb 9, 2022 with an internment at Forest Home Cemetery in Forest Park, IL in the summer of 2022. She married Thomas V. Anderson on Dec 27, 1952 who preceded her in death on Oct 20, 1990. They raised three children, John E. Anderson (Leigh Ann) Anderson of Western Springs, IL, Kathleen L. Holck (Chris) of The Villages, FL and James T. Anderson (Sharon) of Burnsville, MN. She worked for her son Dr. John Anderson at his optometric office for 34 years. Anita remarried Ron Drysdale on Feb 11, 1994 and he preceded her in death on Dec 6, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her brother Don Johnson and her sister Gloria Katzel. Anita walked hand in hand with Jesus and delighted in her family which included 14 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. She made friends easily and enjoyed sharing meals at Trinity Springs with a number of them. She enjoyed puzzles and games like Kings in the Corner and Rummikub and she loved to read. But most of all she delighted in visits with her family on the phone and in person. She was in many Bible studies throughout her life, was a prayer warrior with a generous spirit and was known for her embracing hugs. She epitomized the credo of the church she was a member of, Live Oaks Community Church because she "Played Hard! Prayed Hard! Finished Well!" living a balanced God-honoring life. Memorials can be given in her honor to Live Oaks Community Church to be used for the grand piano she helped to purchase for the new worship center at the church.
