Alvin R. Dennis

May 24, 1946 - February 4, 2022

Alvin Roy Dennis Snr., the son of Ernest Dennis and Doris (Brown) Dixon was born in Duncans, Trelawny, Jamaica West Indies, May 24, 1946. He became a successful hotel manager for Half Moon and the Frenchman's Cove Hotel. He rose to the rank of Hotel Inspector for the North coast area of Jamaica before he was hired by Norwegian Cruise Line(NCL) in 1978. He successfully managed NCL's Jamaica Hill Resort located in Portland, Jamaica. In 1981 Alvin migrated to Miami, Florida with his family where he continued his employment with NCL. Higher education was foremost in Alvin's goal in life. He obtained a bachelor's degree at Barry University and a master's degree in International Business at St.Thomas University in Miami. Alvin became the Vice President of Purchasing and Logistics and also was named the President of the Florida Marine Hotel Association(2011-2013) all in the 30 year tenure at NCL. He was a devoted husband, loving father, wise mentor, compassionate friend to many, and overall an exceptional and lovable man. Alvin enjoyed playing golf, travel, cruising, and above all, spending time with his grandchildren, Landon, Kathryn and Jaxon. He retired to the community of Royal Highlands, Leesburg, Florida where he enjoyed playing golf with his new found friends. He succumbed to illness over a very short period of time. He is survived by his wife of 44 years Everene, daughters Kerry-Ann, Niquette-Ann, son Alvin Jr., granddaughter Kathryn and grandson Jaxon, mother Doris Dixon, 11 brothers, 7 sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, relatives and close friends whom he loved dearly. He will be sadly missed.
