Obituary of William Treacy William J. Treacy, Jr., 79 of The Villages, FL died on Wednesday, February 24, 2010. He was born in Woburn, MA and moved to The Villages in 1992 from Stoneham, MA. He was Catholic by faith. He was a former member of the Elks Lodge in Wakefield, MA; a former member of the Massachusetts National Guard; and a semi-professional football player of Woburn Yanks, Woburn, MA. He was a member of the Irish American Club, The Villages, FL where he played Santa Claus at Christmas. He was a member of Bear Hill Country Club where he played Santa Claus for many years, Stoneham, MA and of Bass River and Bayberry Golf Clubs in Cape Cod, MA. He was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and of the New England Patriots. He enjoyed listening to Irish music, card games with friends and golf with his Tuesday and Thursday golf group. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Treacy, The Villages, FL; 2 sons: William P. Treacy and Thomas M. Treacy of Wakefield, MA; 2 daughters: Sandra Gallien, Vernon, CT and Pamela Patterson, Stoneham, MA; 2 brothers: John Treacy, Sudbury, MA and James Treacy, Boca Raton, FL; 2 sisters: Winifred McDonough, Ogunquit, ME and Mary Anna McCarthy, Wakefield, MA; and 10 granchildren. A gathering of family and friends will be from 4:00 PM - 6:00 on Sunday, February 28, 2010 at Beyers Funeral Home Chapel, Lady Lake, FL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be scheduled in Stoneham, MA at a later date and time.
