William "Bill" Gleason

Bill, age 60, of Leesburg, Florida, passed away unexpectedly in the early hours of March 5, 2026. His wife of 23 years, Lisa Gleason was by his side. Born in Ocean, New Jersey, Bill built a life defined by dedication, compassion, and service to others. Over a professional career spanning more than 40 years, he achieved success as a Vehicle Account Specialist and was most recently a valued member of the team at Jenkins Honda, part of the Jenkins Auto Group. Colleagues and customers alike knew him for his integrity, warmth, and willingness to help anyone in need. His attention was unwavering. His cause was compassion. His depth of knowledge was legendary. Bill was the go-to guy for almost everything, and he made sure his customers knew they weren't buying a car. They were joining his family. And as an Italian American-Irishman, FAMILY is everything. Bill was very proud of his acceptance into the Pinnacle Society, a community of top-performers in the automotive industry. His brotherhood there strengthened his mission to build community and foster the best version of oneself. Beyond his career, Bill was known throughout his community as a loyal friend and someone who showed up when others needed support. Those who knew him best understood that his greatest purpose came through his family and his advocacy for special needs and rare conditions (RD). When his son Vincent James was born with Tyrosinemia (HT-1), a rare medical condition, Bill became a passionate advocate for children and families in the special needs community. Individuals affected by tyrosinemia may experience a range of symptoms, including liver and kidney problems, neurological issues, and metabolic crises. If left untreated, the condition can lead to significant health complications and even death. The estimated frequency of Tyrosinemia Type I is 1 in 100,000 to 1 in 120,000 births worldwide. The causes he supported were never casual commitments—Bill gave his time, energy, and heart fully. Advocacy for the special (or as he proudly said, “spectacular”) needs community became sacred to him, and he worked tirelessly to uplift and support others walking a similar path. His phone was constantly buzzing with connections and contacts and he was always available. Bill was former VP of NOTA, the Network of Tyrosinemia Advocates, a journey to better the lives of families affected with Tyrosinemia. Bill was pivotal in advocating for medicine access for children in Jordan, Egypt, and many other countries. Bill lived by simple but powerful principles: Family first. Lead with love. Believe in yourself. He was a Jersey native who loved Classic Rock, the Giants, cars, golf, football, hitting the gun range with his teenager, and his wife's amazing cooking. Bill had the sweetest of love languages combined: acts of service, and sending gifts. He is survived by his devoted wife, Lisa Gleason of Leesburg, and his beloved son, Vincent James. His sister-in-law Vicki Lynn of Petaluma, sister-in-law Chris Mary (Bob) of Paradise, nephew Devin James Ambron of Austin, TX, and nephew Sam. Even in passing, Bill continued his lifelong commitment to helping others through the gift of organ donation, offering hope and life to those in need.
