Wanda Jean Daniel

Wanda Jean (Renfrow) Daniel, age 80, of Bushnell, FL passed away July 19, 2017 at 12:10 am in Sumterville, FL in the care of Hospice. She was born Nov. 6, 1936 in Steff, KY to Omie & Cuba (Embry) Renfrow. They moved to Port Arthur, Texas 1940 and her father worked for the telephone company. Her aunt, Elaine Embry, age 13 came out for a visit and one night on May 20, 1941 their house had a gas explosion. Elaine grabbed Wanda and ran out and then her parents came running out on fire. Her parents were pronounced deceased at the hospital. Elaine took Wanda back to KY to with Wanda's grandparents Odra & Daisy Embry. Wanda was raised on a milk farm and helped her grandparents every morning and evening. She learned to cook lots of country food and enjoyed lots of memories of her childhood with her cousin Mary Jo and so many others. She married Charles V. Daniel Aug. 25, 1966 and they moved to Louisville, KY and there they had their ups and down and bought a home to raise their children. Saundra M. was born Oct 18th, 1957 and Michael C. was born Aug. 25, 1966 on their 10th wedding Anniversary. She worked at Woolworths Store, St Anthony Hospital and Phillip Morris Cig. Comp. where she retired in 1993. She then decided to move to Bushnell, FL February 1994 to be close to her son and where her family lived. Her aunt Elaine moved down with them. She loved holidays but one day she told her children that someone better learn how to cook because she is retiring from all that mess and going to try to enjoy life now that she's retired. Her daughter and granddaughter moved to Florida also because they were a close family. Just after moving her husband got sick and she was there to care for him until his passing October 21, 1996. She loved to travel, go to the beach, and yard sale until her aunt got sick and Wanda took care of her until she passed May 2004. She had a great relationship with her daughter in law and they spent a lot of time together in her last 20 years. Wanda had lots of family from KY, GA, N.C. and others to come to visit her during her stay in Bushnell. She loved holidays and spoiled her grandchildren with presents and even took them shopping. February, 2008 she came down with colon cancer and it took a lot out of her but she pulled through really good each time. Had a few other health problems but her great spirit pulled her through. She was loved by so many people in her family up north, Florida and her church. She will be gratefully missed, but we know she's in a better place with no pain. One day if you ask Jesus to come in your heart and Believe that Jesus died for our sins and rose three days later and change your ways, then you will go to heaven one day.
