Obituary of Timothy Cameron A life well spent, a journey ended, a battle fought, a victory won. This victorious battle ended November 21, 2014 when our loved one entered into eternal life to be with the Lord, following a brief illness and stay at Cornerstone Hospice and Palliative Care in Tavares, FL. Mrs. Timothy Ray Cameron was born January 17, 1923. She was the second of eleven children from the union of the late Adolphus and Margaret Ray of Lillington, NC. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized into Norrington AME Zion Adventist Church. There she served both as an usher and a member of the choir. She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late James E. Cameron. This union was blessed with three children: the late Buddy Cameron, the late James C. Cameron and one daughter Eliza C. McKoy. Mrs. Cameron later joined Cameron Grove AME Zion Church in Broadway, NC where she remained a member until her health began to fail. She moved to Leesburg, FL to live with her daughter Eliza and son-in-law Neil A. McKoy, Sr. They would become her caregivers until she went to her heavenly home. She loved to play checkers with Neil and enjoyed taking rides in the car with Eliza, going anywhere she asked to go. They would have many discussions about old times. It was a joy to see her smiling about the good old days. We thank God for Timothy's life, kind heart and gentle spirit. She leaves to cherish her sweet memories: devoted daughter, Eliza (Neil) McKoy of Leesburg, FL; sister, Mildred R. McLean of Greensboro, NC; 3 grandsons, Allen (Joan) Akins of Sanford, NC, Jesse (Angie) Cameron of Stockbridge, GA and Clifton Williams of Baltimore, MD; granddaughter, Rena Cameron Ray of Bunnlevel, NC; 6 great grandchildren: 2 great-great grandchildren; and a host of special nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Vickie Marks of Kinston, NC. A visitation will be held on Saturday November 29, 2014 from 2-3 PM in the Chapel of Beyers Funeral Home in Leesburg, FL with a Funeral Service to follow the visitation beginning at 3 PM.
