Terry Clarence O'Steen

Terry Clarence O’Steen, age 69, was born in Clermont, Florida on September 2, 1955, the son of Clarence and Carmaleta O’Steen. Living his life as a Florida Native and lifetime Lake County resident. He passed away peacefully November 8, 2024 surrounded by his beloved family. Terry was a dedicated husband, dad, Pops, avid truck driver and sincere friend. These were exemplified by his living principles of honesty and truth. With his unwavering passion to give, work and share the best of his capabilities. After graduating from Groveland High School, he spent much of his life learning trades from concrete molding to canning juice until finally landing in the world of truck driving. He was an avid trucker spending time on the open roads, hauling multiple types of cargo and providing for his family. His final career adventure was with The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) where he retired 3 years ago. During this time, he fulfilled another passion of his life: boating the waterways of Florida. Many years of his life were spent on the water. Upon his retirement, Terry exclaimed “He had had the best of his worlds when it came down to all he had done for his life’s careers” In between trucking and boating, Terry managed family time. Though on the road most of his life, he never missed a Lake County Fair Beef and Swine Show, nor any opportunity to be alongside of his two children. Lending his support, helping hand and surrounding them with his love. These years were probably the most precious to him! Most recently over the past few years family weekend trips took the place of trucking, boating and all the rest. Wherever Terry was with his family, he was the happiest! Terry is survived by his wife of 47 years, Janet O’Steen of Groveland, FL, son: Micah (Jennifer) O’Steen, Clermont, FL, daughter: Veronica (Tony) Trevino of Groveland, FL, 5 grandchildren: Bradley and Leah O’Steen, Jacksyn, Mia and Logan Trevino, Brother: Danny O’Steen, Center Hill, FL and many extended family members and friends. Remembrance Gathering will be Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Tuscanooga Baptist Church, Mascotte, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Terry’s behalf to The Greater Clermont Cancer Foundation.
