Stephen John Wiejaczka

Stephen Wiejaczka, beloved brother, uncle, cousin and friend, born November 25, 1943, passed away suddenly on June 21, 2019. He was born in Brooklyn New York and later moved to Queens Village where he lived with his father. Academically, Stephen went to St. Cyril and Methodius Grammar School in Greenpoint Brooklyn, Rice High School in Manhattan and Iona College in New Rochelle, NY. Stephen worked at Dime Savings Bank in the Auditing Department for 30 years which was the majority of his employment career and enjoyed and took great pride in his job. His wonderful personality gained him many friends, some of whom he continued to keep in touch with until his passing. He retired early and moved with his father to Leesburg, Florida as many of their relatives already lived in Florida and his father wanted to be closer to his siblings and other family members. As his father aged, he became a devoted caretaker and was resolute in his conviction to have him stay in his home until his death in 2008. He was a devout Catholic and became involved with St. Paul's Catholic Church in Leesburg where he attended mass on Sundays and enjoyed volunteering as an usher and also a Lector. Stephen was always a kind and generous man and would never hesitate to help others if they needed assistance in any way and donated regularly to many charities. He was an avid NY Giants football fan, NY Mets fan and loved horse racing. Stephen traveled extensively over his life and really enjoyed seeing different places all over the world. Those who were fortunate to know him, knew a person of high integrity who was loved and admired by almost everyone he met. He had an abundant and witty sense of humor, and his "Stevieisms" contributed to many a belly laugh from friends and family. He is survived by his older brother Richard and his niece Cathy as well as a multitude of other friends and family who loved and adored him. A visitation will be held at the Beyers Funeral Home Chapel, Leesburg on Friday, June 28 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Leesburg on Saturday, June 29 at 8:30am with Father Mark Librizzi celebrant. Burial will take place at Lone Oak Cemetery, Leesburg.
