Obituary of Sandra Caryl (Butson)(Howell) Gregory On December 10, 2022, Sandra “Sandy” Gregory of Bushnell, FL, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, peacefully went to be with the Lord at the age of 78. She was born in Canandaigua, NY to Joseph and Charlotte Butson. They resided in the upstate New York area with her younger sister, Charis Ann. Sandy graduated from Middlesex Valley Central School, Rushville, NY in 1961. She attended the Harper Method Beauty School in Rochester, NY until her meeting and marrying Jim Howell of Geneva, NY. The two were wed on October 20, 1962 and raised two sons, Mike Howell of Bushnell, FL and Scott Edward Howell of Duluth, GA. Although it was hard leaving life-long friends and family in New York, the family moved to Florida in 1976. The two were married until Jim’s early death from ALS in April 1984.. Sandy worked as a Pharmacy Technician at Rexall Drugs in Lake Panasoffkee, FL and later retired from her career as a Senior Health Service Technician at Lake Sumter Correctional Institute, Clermont, FL. She was very active in serving at church, the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief programs and in the Hope Ministries Food Pantry, Thrift Store & Hope Pregnancy Care Center in Bushnell. In late 1986, she met and married Gene Gregory, a WWII Veteran, devoted Christian husband, stepfather to the boys and a Deacon at First Baptist Bushnell. Sandy was widowed a second time when Gene passed away 1996. Sandy was preceded in death by her first husband Jim Howell, father Joe Butson, mother Char Butson and second husband Gene Gregory. Sandy is survived by her son Mike (Sandee) Howell, son Scott Howell; grandsons Tim (Brittani) Altman and family, Micah (Katie) Howell, Mark Howell; granddaughter Rachel Howell; great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Purcell Chapel in Bushnell on Thursday, December 15, 2022 with visitation at 1:00 pm and services at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
