Ronald Carl Peavy

During the early morning Monday, May 24, 2021, Ronald Carl Peavy, Sr. entered a mansion in the sky. Ronald also known as Ronnie and or Ron unexpectedly passed at his home in the Nicotoon Lake Area, Umatilla, FL. As a result of his generous spirit and loving personality, he was loved by many. His life was as beautiful as the plants and animals he loved so well, and his influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew him. Ronnie was born on January 8, 1951, to Ocoee, Florida residents Carl and Marion Peavy. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, maternal grandparents John Byron and Roxie Powell and paternal grandparents Ernest and Leila Peavy. Ronnie was married to Debra Roberts Peavy Phillips May 27, 1972-October 2, 1980, having children Lisa Jeanette and Ronald Carl, II. Ronnie was married to Pamela Russell Peavy (deceased) December 24, 1984-April 20, 1994, with her sons Brad Russell and Brian Russell. Ronnie married current wife Ouida Boston Hughes Peavy July 4, 1994, with her son David Hughes. Ronnie is survived by his wife Ouida (Umatilla, FL), daughter Lisa (Paul) Vees (Arabi, Ga.), son Ronald Carl Peavy, II (Old Town, FL), grandchildren Sarah Rushing, Seth Hughes, Wyatt Peavy and Kayla Peavy, sisters Nancy Spencer (Orange City, FL) and Wanda (David) Phillips (Longwood, FL), brother Byron (Catherine) Peavy (Osteen, FL), uncle Louis Powell (Orlando, FL) and aunt Fran Powell (Austin, TX), stepsons Brad Russell, Brian Russell and David Hughes, nieces and nephews Shanan Spencer, Joshua Phillips, Jacquelyn (Ken) Polk, Tyler Peavy, Cory Spencer, Elizabeth Phillips, Courtney (Dawson) Martin, Amelia Phillips, William Peavy and Rhett Peavy, along with numerous cousins, grandnieces and grandnephews. Ronnie enjoyed living in the wilderness, hunting, fishing, watching football (Gators) and baseball (Tampa Bay Rays) live and on T.V., riding in his Jeep and keeping up with racing whether it was NASCAR or his favorite mini sprint racer #11 Cory Spencer. Whether early morning or dusk you could find Ronnie/Ron with Ouida on their porch watching the local wildlife wander through his part of the woods and at night star gazing. From Williams Wordsworth' s words: The stars are mansions built by Nature's hand, And, haply, there the spirits of the blest Dwell, clothed in radiance, their immortal vest; The nieces and nephews dubbed Ronnie as their very own "Uncle Si", so we know Ronnie is now residing in Sirius, also called Alpha Canis Majoris or the Dog Star, brightest star in the night sky. So, each night when we look up to the stars, we know you are there Big Brother watching and protecting and loving us as always. Those we love do not go away. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 10 at 3:00 pm at the Cornerstone Fellowship Hall. The address is 1333 E Crown Point Rd., Ocoee, FL 34761. The Lake Nicatoon gathering for local friends and family will be held at Ron and Ouida's home on July 17, 2021 starting at 11am. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations or volunteer hours be made in Ronald/Ronnie/Ron's memory to an animal rescue or wildlife refuge of your choice.
