Robert Ceselsky

On Thursday December 10, 2020, Robert (Bob) Ceselsky, loving husband and proud father of 3 grown children, passed away at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida at the age of 80. Despite the nationwide pandemic protocols, he was fortunate enough to have his wife at his side. He was born on April 4, 1940 in Wilkes Barre PA, to Joseph and Mary Subally Ceselsky, the youngest of nine children in a Catholic family. Sadly, his mother passed away when he was less than a year old. Robert served our country proudly in the United Stated Marine Corps and then as a police officer/Detective in the Washington DC Police Dept. He was forced to retire on disability after being shot during an after-hours raid on a nightclub. He moved to Florida in the early 1990s and worked as a security host at a local government facility until he officially retired in 2012. He was also known as "Uncle Ski" to many nieces and nephews and dearly loved by each and every one of them. King of the cheesy "dad" jokes, his sense of humor was contagious. He told the same 4 jokes over and over and laughed each time as if it was the first time he had heard them. Everyone loved his smile and somewhat "shy" personality. He was a mentor to so many that gravitated to his history, knowledge and stories. He was a member of the USMC League in The Villages as well as the American Legion, a group that practiced magic tricks and a Shuffleboard group that he enjoyed very much. He loved showing his magic tricks to everyone and every now and again pulled one off that was actually quite impressive. He loved teaching some of the special tricks to his grandkids as well. He is preceded in death by parents: Joseph and Mary. Siblings: Helen, Mary, Regina, Joseph, Richard and John (whom passed shortly after birth). He is survived by his wife of 24 years (Judy); two sisters (Irene in Michigan) and Kathleen (The Villages, FL). He is also survived by a son (Robert Jr in Pennsylvania); daughters and their spouses (Cherie & Mark Chmielewski, Zimmerman, MN); Lora & Luke Raubenheimer (Lake Placid, FL); and five grandchildren (Travis, Danielle, Hallie, Felix, and Izaak), who he adored and loved so very much. At his request, no service will be held, but he will be buried in a Veteran's Memorial Park in Florida.
