Obituary of Ralph "Wayne" O'Banion Ralph "Wayne" O'Banion, 73, the Villages, FL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 19, 2016. Wayne was born in Kentucky and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio where he met his wife of 53 years, Gladys. He proudly served his country for more than 20 years as a member of the United States Air Force, retiring with honors in 1982. He then took his leadership, technical skills and vast knowledge of military aircraft to McDonnell Douglas/Boeing until his retirement some 20 years later. Committed to family, friends and his community, Wayne always found a way to give back. Wayne loved playing the game of golf and when not on the links he enjoyed coaching community youth sports as well as officiating baseball, football, and basketball games. Later in life Wayne turned his attentions to theatre and music. He took great pleasure in taking to the stage and sharing his enjoyment of both with his cast-mates and the audience alike. Wayne wanted to share the feelings of enjoyment that music brings with his friends, and with that in mind he created "Karaoke for Beginners South". Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Gladys "Shorty" O'Banion, his two children, daughter Linda Lindstrom and her husband Chris and Son Donald O'Banion and his wife Tami, his four grandchildren, Derek and Dillon Lindstrom and Kelsey and Kevin O'Banion, as well as his sister Brenda Parsell and her husband Randy, and numerous other loving family members and friends. Wayne will be greatly missed by everyone blessed enough to have come into his life, and will always be remembered as a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend. Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at North Lake Presbyterian Church starting at 10:00 am with a reception to follow. Private services will be held on Friday, May 13, 2016 at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Wayne's memory to Shriner's Children's Hospital.
