Obituary of Nicholas Deutsch NICHOLAS "NICK" JOHN DEUTSCH, 92, of The VIllages, Florida, died, January 31, 2013 at The Villages Hospice House. He was born January 24, 1921 in Virgil, Illinois. He moved to The Villages, FL in 1989 from Rockford, IL. He was a retired Colonel in US Army where he served 30 years and was a veteran of WWII, Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was a motorcycle trainer during the war. He served 22 years with the State of Illinois Department of Labor. He was an ordained Deacon with the diocese of Rockford, IL in 1980. He was a deacon of St. Timothy Catholic Church, Lady Lake, Fl. He was past Commander of the American Legion Post in Aurora, IL and past Commander of American Legion Post #347, Lady Lake, FL. Member of Knights of Columbus Council 10034 and 4th Degree Assembly 0722, Lady Lake, FL. He was an avid golfer, bowler and professional boxer before entering the service. He is survived by: Wife: Anne Marie Deutsch of The Villages, FL Sons: Richard (Christine) Deutsch of Merritt Island, FL Robert Deutsch of Melbourne, FL Nicholas Deutsch of Whitehall, NY William (Helen) Deutsch of Santa Fe, NM Edward Deutsch of Merritt Island, FL Daughters: Bette (David) Harken of Aptos, CA Barbara Viederis (Ron) of St. Beloit, IL Anita (Mark) Wrightson of Rockford, IL Sister: Sister Cathryn Deutsch, OP of Adrian, MI 15 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren A Mass of Christian Burial for Deacon Nick Deutsch will be held at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Lady Lake, FL, on Monday, February 4, 2013 at 8:30 AM with father Ed Waters, Celebrant. Family and friends may call at the Church, Sunday February 3, 2013 from 1:30 to 4:00 PM with a wake service at 4:00 PM. Graveside services will be at Florida National Cemetery with full military honors conducted by American Legion Post #347 Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Timothy Catholic Church,1351 Paige Place, Lady Lake, FL 32159 or The Villagers for Hospice, 601 Casa Bella, The Villages, FL 32162.
