Obituary of Naudine Coulson Naudine Esther Maurine Coulson, 27 of Lauderhill, FL, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2015. Naudine was born on Sunday, May 15, 1988 at 11:16 p.m. in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and was the first child of Gilbert Achilles Coulson and Esther Beverley Lewin-Coulson. Naudine has been giving back to the community since she was five years old. She was in the International Baccalaureate programs in middle and high schools serving with the high school's swim team receiving "The Most Valuable Player" MVP Florida Award and graduated with honors in 2006 with 200 hours of voluntary service. During that time until 2009, she was a competitor with several local swim teams: the Hollywood YMCA Bulldogs, Bass Park Angels, Lauderhill Torpedos, and the USA Swimming National Team from 2007 to 2009. Naudine competed and won in several competitions in her division and age group in USA triathlons, 5k races, USAT United States Track and Field, and ocean rescue with the United States Life Saving Association where she became a three-time national champion in 2008 and 2009. Naudine was recognized in 2007 in an exhibit dispelling the myth: "Black People Can't Swim African Americans in Aquatics"; honored in 2008 at the International Swimming Hall of Fame - Celebrate Black Swimming History, and acknowledged by the American Red Cross Organization Lifesaving Techniques in 2012. Naudine attended the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. She received "Bulldog of the Year" Award while attending Union College in Barbourville, Kentucky in 2011, and later this year graduated from Broward Community College with an associate degree. Despite it all, Naudine continued to pursue her passion by teaching children how to swim and was already enrolled next semester to continue her unfulfilled pursuits in a bachelor's degree course in health sciences. Naudine is preceded by her (grandfather) James Hezekiah Lewin, Jamaica, and is survived by her loving family (parents) Esther and Gilbert; (brother) Joshua Achilles Coulson, 24; (sister) Rachel Annmarie Coulson, 23; (grandmother) Leah Lewin-Scott, Jamaica; (grandparents) Mettirand and Ernie Coulson, United Kingdom; (aunts) Dawn Elizabeth Robinson, Coral Springs and Soryiah Loren Lewin, Georgia; (cousins) Jean Cousins, Rose, Margaret, and Maxine Coulson, UK; (uncles) Gersham Augustus Williams, Gary Delroy Mathias Lewin, Renford Coulson, UK; Anthony Throupe, Miami, and numerous cousins in Jamaica, UK, and the USA; (great uncles) Neville Coulson, John Coulson, UK and Lance and Uton Lewin, Hallandale, and (great aunts) Florence, Adassa Williams UK, and Daphne Crossfield, Jamaica Naudine was taken too soon and we will all miss her immensely.
