Mike Otterbourg

Obituary of Mike Otterbourg Mike Webb Otterbourg, beloved husband and father, age 87, died Friday, June17, 2011. Mr. Otterbourg was a veteran of WWII and served in both The Merchant Marines and The U.S. Navy. He served as a Deacon at the First Baptist Church in Spencer, North Carolina and a Chaplain with the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks in Salisbury, North Carolina. He was a member of the Hole-In-One Club. He loved music and played the drums in various bands and enjoyed swing dancing. His hobbies included golf and model railroading. He was a 32 year retiree from the Norfolk Southern Railway in Atlanta, Georgia. He retired to Hendersonville, North Carolina and in 2000 moved to the Villages. Survivors include his wife, Addrie, The Villages; Daughter, Shannon Phillips, Atlanta, Georgia; Daughter, Jill Robbins, Canton, Ohio and Grandson, Mark Beldon, Lyndhurst, Ohio. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 21 from 9:00 am to 10:00am at Beyers Funeral Home, Lady Lake Chapel. Services are scheduled for 10:00 am (immediately following visitation) Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at The Beyers Funeral Home, Lady Lake Chapel with Dr. Alan Holden officiating. Graveside service with full Military Honors at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers the Family request contributions in the memory of Mr. Otterbourg to The Villagers for Hospice, 601 Casa Bella, The Villages, FL 32162-9985.
