Michael "Mike" Stephen Davis

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael "Mike" Stephen Davis, who departed this world on January 18, 2026, in Leesburg, Florida. Born on February 16, 1958, in Houston, Texas, Mike was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many. He was 67 years old at the time of his death. Mike was the cherished son of Lynelle Frances Wright and Robert Gardener Davis. He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Ann Davis, whom he married on September 23, 2001. Together, they formed a partnership filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Mike was proud to be a bonus father to Richard M. Ziegler, Sara Janosevich and Laura A. McGinnis, and he adored his role as a grandfather to his grandchildren: Adam M. Davis, Caleb J. Christy, Sadie R. Christy, Heaven Ziegler, and Bethany Ziegler. He also leaves behind his beloved sister, Debilyn Davis Pyle, niece Charlotte (Stephen) Pyle Davenport, along with a great niece, Zoey Alyssa Davenport. Mike was also a proud pet parent to four fur babies, who brought endless joy to his life. Mike dedicated a significant portion of his life to service and hard work. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1977, serving honorably until his discharge in March 1981. Following his military service, Mike pursued a career that showcased his technical expertise and work ethic. He worked as an Electronics Technician and Electrician at Sea World for 10 years, followed by a remarkable 24 years as a Lineman and truck driver with Florida Power/Progress Energy, where he was well-respected by his colleagues and community. Faith and service were integral parts of Mike's life. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Montverde and served as a former Councilman for the City of Montverde. His commitment to community service extended beyond these roles; he was a Life Member of The American Radio Relay League and a member of the National Rifle Association (NRA). Mike was also a Promise Keeper, emphasizing his dedication to family values and community. In his free time, Mike found joy in many hobbies and interests. He was an avid fisherman, a passionate deer hunter, a skilled HAM radio operator and found joy in riding motorcycles in his younger days. He enjoyed target shooting and cherished the moments spent outdoors, where he felt most at peace. Mike was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved granddaughter, Eden Grace Ziegler, as well as his cherished pets, Ariel and Symon. His absence leaves a profound void in the lives of all who knew him. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 2 p.m. at Beyers Funeral Home, Leesburg. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to help offset expenses. Mike's legacy of love, service, and dedication will continue to inspire those who remain. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as his spirit lives on in the hearts of his family and friends. Rest in peace, dear Mike.
