Mary Jean Cole

On December 7, 2019 at the age of 71 a beautiful, devoted, beloved wife and mother, grandmother, great grandmother, cousin, sister in law, artist, and dear friend left this world unexpectedly. With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Mary Jean Cole (Jeanie) from Yalaha, Florida. Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts on March 27, 1948 to Joseph and Nora (McMahon) Sacco. Those that knew Mary Jean on a personal note, knew that she preferred to be called by her middle name, Jean. Jean was a lover of the arts, history, and education. As long as she could remember she knew how to draw. Always very familiar with the attributes of drawing and painting. During grade school her artistic ability was very much recognized, eventually leading it to be promoted to bigger and better things. Mary Jean attended The School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts. In the early seventies Jean and former husband John Doyle moved to Florida. Soon after residing in Gainesville, Florida as a homemaker with three daughters Kimberley, Karen, and Kristen Doyle. Transferring to Leesburg in 1979, she had worked for Kay Jewelers. In July 1988, she had started working at Citizens National Bank where she met her current husband Alan Cole. On September 22, 1995 Alan and Jean married. Jean made Alan's life incredible, the love they had for one another was never questionable. Mary Jean Cole will be missed each and every day. Jean is survived by her loving husband Alan Cole of 24 yrs. of Yalaha; daughters, Kimberley (Andrew) Anderson of Yalaha and Karen Broderick of Winter Garden; grandchildren, Patrick, Christopher, and Kiersten Anderson, Lauryn and Luke Broderick, and great-granddaughter, Everly Anderson. With deepest sorrows Mary Jean Cole is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Nora Sacco and beautiful daughter Kristen Ann Doyle. Jean was witty, funny, smart, outgoing, and vivacious. She was fiercely loyal to her friends, family, and new comers in her life. Her extensive vocabulary and way with words will live on forever in our hearts. Jean would always tell you the truth even if it was not what you wanted to hear. She had a knack for telling it like it is and not holding back her opinion. We will always remember her infectious smile, laugh, wise words of wisdom, and caring personality. She was a rare combination of someone who had a love of life and a firm understanding of what was important: the simplicity of living a life with those you love. Her presence impacted everyone around her and for that she will be sorely missed. The love she had for her family was unconditional. Jean is now in the arms of the angels, watching over all that fulfilled her mind, body, and soul with love. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Leesburg, FL. at 8:30AM. Burial to follow at Lone Oak Cemetery in Leesburg,FL.
