Mary Phyllis Clemons

Obituary of Mary Clemons Mary P. Clemons was born in Portsmouth, Rhode Island on October 13, 1920. She was a long time resident of the Bushnell area and was living in Maylene, Alabama at the time of her passing. She entered Heaven's gates on April 10, 2015. A consummate mother and homemaker, Mary, or as better known to most as "Granny" was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. Over the years she loved watching the Food Network, Home and Gardens Channel, and reading books that she shared with her entire family. Mary loved making special afghan's and quilts for loved ones to keep them warm on cold nights. At the age of 80 Mary began her many traveling adventures with her oldest daughter, Becky, and family friends, the Ard's. Her cruises on the seas aboard her favorite line, "Princess" toured the Caribbean, Europe, and New England. She visited Europe numerous times traveling through England, Spain, Italy, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and even visiting her native homeland of Portugal, Islands of Azores. Mary had an unwavering faith in God. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church of Bushnell. Mary was predeceased by her loving husband of 45 years, Esary Floyd Clemons. She was also predeceased by one brother Emanuel Perry of Maryland, and two sisters Celia Logan, and Viola Herbert of Rhode Island. Mary is survived by her brother George Perry of Jacksonville, and three children, Rebecca DeFlora of Alabama, Susan Clemons of Bushnell, and Leonard Clemons of Bushnell. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren Kimberly Moffitt, Scott DeFlora, Denise Chandler, Stephanie Tedder, Christina Burke, Hope Filyaw, and Athena Ross. She had 12 great-grandchildren, Cody Chandler, Carolyn Chandler, Christina Chandler, Saige Moffitt, Ashley DeFlora, Kinsley Moffitt, Alex DeFlora, Jordan Tedder, Dakota Filyaw, Sydney Burke, Seth Burke, and Brylee Ross. Survived by a host of family members from Portsmouth, Rhode Island, Mansfield, Massachusetts, and the Central Florida area. The family will receive friends on April 16th at Purcell's Funeral Home from 12-2, service and grave side to follow. The family will hold a "celebration of life" at the home of Thomas and Kim Moffitt 115 CR 532W Bushnell, FL. " Loved ones come into our lives and loved ones leave our lives.
