Mary Ellen Brennan

Mary E. Brennan, age 82, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 8, 2026. Mary loved Jesus Christ with all her heart and soul, and her faith was the foundation upon which she built her life. Through her love, compassion, strength, and service to others, Mary lived her faith each and every day. Born in Connecticut to Florence and Robert Capron, Mary grew up in Pennsylvania alongside her sister and four brothers. Mary graduated from Neshaminy High School, Langhorne, PA. in 1962, and played the saxophone for the Neshaminy H.S. marching band. In July 1978, Mary married the love of her life, Edward Brennan. Together, Mary and Ed built a life filled with love, friendship, travel, and many wonderful memories. They later moved to Marietta, Georgia, before making The Villages, Florida, their home in 1996. Mary embraced life in The Villages wholeheartedly. She became involved in numerous organizations and charities and generously gave her time and talents to her community. She served as Co-Chairman of the Publicity Committee for Villagers for Hospice and as both Chaplain and Secretary for the Lady Lake Elkettes. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, the Irish American Club, the Pennsylvania Club, and the IBM Retirees Club of The Villages, FL. Mary’s desire to help others was also reflected in her work. She served as an Information Specialist at The Villages Hospice House, was the owner of her own business, “Just Call Mary,” in Lady Lake, and worked as an Office Manager at LifeStream Behavioral Center in Leesburg. Mary treasured her friendships and enjoyed an active social life in The Villages, developing friendships that endured for many years. She loved playing cards, visiting with friends, and traveling. She took numerous bus trips with friends, including memorable adventures to Branson, Missouri, and Panama City, Florida. She especially enjoyed cruising and traveling throughout the Caribbean. Those who knew Mary will remember her giving and loving nature, her quick wit, and her wonderful sense of humor. She had a way of bringing warmth and laughter into the lives of those around her. Mary’s surviving siblings will forever be grateful for the love and devotion she showed to their parents, Florence and Robert Capron, residents of The Villages. Mary was their primary caregiver, faithfully caring for both of them when they needed her most. That same devotion was given to her beloved Ed, when he reached the end of his life, Mary lovingly cared for him as well. Mary faced her own challenges with remarkable grace. Although she lived with chronic pain for many years, she continued to approach life with faith, love, humor, and a positive spirit. She did not allow her struggles to define her. Instead, she remained an example to those around her of strength, perseverance, and what it means to live a Christian life. Mary will be remembered as a strong woman of faith, a devoted wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, and as someone who gave generously of herself to others. While our hearts are heavy because we miss her, we find comfort in knowing that the faith Mary carried throughout her life has brought her to her eternal home. The kindness and love Mary shared will live on in the lives of each person whose life was touched by Mary. She will remain forever in our hearts until the day we meet again. A Celebration of Life for Mary will be held at a later date at Hope Lutheran Church in The Villages, Florida. Mary will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida
